The Point of Single Contact as an intermediary between companies and authorities
In the State of Rheinland Pfalz, the Point of Single Contact is available to all domestic and foreign companies from all industries. It helps companies in obtaining permits and approvals from the concerned authorities.
The Point of Single Contact can handle all procedures and formalities, which are necessary for pursuing your business operations, in particular,
- declarations, notifications or applications for approvals from the concerned authorities, including application for entry in registers, records or databases, or registration with a professional body or association.
- The Point of Single Contact also provides support in applying for the licences necessary for establishment of business operations.

The Point of Single Contact is without prejudice to the allocation of responsibilities and powers among the authorities. The Point of Single Contact acts as an intermediary between the companies and authorities and follows up the process execution by the appropriate authorities.
The service provided by the Point of Single Contact is free-of-charge. Fees may apply for the actual administrative procedures with the concerned authorities.
Each Applicant can decide whether he chooses to commission the Point of Single Contact for handling the approval procedures with the concerned authorities or contacts them directly.
Assistance in the recognition of professional qualifications
A new task of the Point of Single Contact is to provide information in accordance with the EU directive on the recognition of professional qualifications. To this end, refer to the navigation item Working with foreign professional qualifications. It provides information on the regulated professions, training courses, requirements and the process for getting foreign qualifications recognized.
